Dutch Design Desk in South China

The Dutch Design Desk helps the Dutch creative industry kick-start their business in the south of China (the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong).

South China used to be the anonymous factory of the world. Today, Chinese companies are evolving from ‘Made in China’ to ‘Created in China’. They need pro- fessionals with design and branding skills. Providing market insight and matchmaking, the Dutch Design Desk GPRD supports the entry of these professionals into the Chinese market.

In China, and specifically the southern region, the demand for creative services is booming. Due to economical changes, growing competition and a maturing home market, Chinese manufacturers are looking to grow from OEM to ODM, or even to develop their own brand. Loads of opportunities for product- and fashion design and brand/marketing-related design.

With the growing welfare comes a growing demand for better living standards and caution for the environment. Urban planning and "eco-cities" are hot topics for governments and developers. Given the rise of the middle class, social, or welfare housing is another very hot topic. Dutch architects and urban planners are more than welcome to share their experience (and do good business in the process).
