Design mission to Guangzhou Design Week
After the successful trade missions to the spring and fall editions of Canton Fair and Beijing Design Week in September, a folluw-up mission to Guangzhou Design Week takes place from 7 to 11 December 2011 focussing on design, (interior) architecture and urban development. 15 Dutch design companies participated in a full programme of matchmaking and networking with potential Chinese business partners.

This design mission coincides with the presentation of the Liberation of Light exhibition on new lighting technology, so a large part of the delegation will consist of companies within that expertise. Capital D organised this visit to Guangzhou together with Syntens, the DutchDFA programme, Yksi and local partners in China.
The participating design companies include Atelier Herman Kuijer, Barcode Architects, Dorette Sturm, ELV Architects, Go West Project, Inbo Adviseurs B.V., Information Based Architecture, KCAP, Luminoux, MVRDV, NL Architects, Roodbeen Architectuur B.V. and Studio Roosegaarde.

Programme trade mission
For the trade mission to Guangzhou Design Week, a combined programme was developed, linked to the state of the art exhibition Liberation of Light on Tour, in order to generate maximum attention and provide appropriate accessibility. The programme consisted of intensive individual matchmaking meetings and an activity programme with lectures, company visits and networking opportunities.
