Crossing Borders workshop @ Vitra Design Museum
As part of their Dutch Design Focus, Vitra Design Museum organised a two-day matchmaking workshop for Dutch and German/Swiss designers on 22 and 23 November. Timo de Rijk (TU Delft) moderated the Crossing Borders workshop.

From 9 to 18 November TU Delft and German students participated in a design studio exploring the core outcomes of the 2011/12 debate series Design & Politics: The Next Phase. The results are presented at ANCB Berlin in a public debate with Henk Ovink on 18 Jan 2013. .

BNA International organised a matchmaking workshop on 8 October for Dutch architects with their eyes on the Geman market at Expo Real in Munich. The day consisted of a workshop on 'Contemporary Urgencies' led by Marc Maurer and a network dinner with German stakeholders.

Traveling exhibition Connecting Concepts was present at DMY Berlin from 6 to 10 June. The programme also included the symposium Designing Business and the Dutch Profile videos. Dutch designer Jolan van der Wiel took home a DMY 2012 award for his Gravity Stool.

Dutch Design Desk Europe was launched officially on Friday 6 April. Nicole Maurer (Maurer United Architects /DDDE), Noël Lebens (Deputy of Limburg Province) and Christine de Baan (DutchDFA programme director) signed the agreement for 2012 at the Floriade in Venlo.

Dutch Design Desk Europe
Dutch Design Desk Europe (DDDE) aims to help businesses within the creative industry to work across the national borders. DDDE was founded in October 2011 and will focus on the largest business partner of the Netherlands during the first year: Germany.

The DutchDFA programme for Germany focusses on strengthening existing cultural and business relationships, while exploring new avenues for collaboration and critical debate. Projects include networking at Dutch Denim Diner, Basic Instincts exhibition and symposium Norm=Form.
