Dutch Denim Diner Berlin
Dutch denim brands joined forces in Berlin from 6 to 8 July to create a fashionable networking event. The Dutch Denim Diner, a.k.a. Der Georg, was a central meeting point and hangout for all Dutch creative professionals present during tradeshow BREAD & BUTTER and Berlin Fashion Week. Der Georg was located at the Alte Münze on Molkenmarkt 2, 10179 Berlin.
Dutch denim and denim related fashion brands are always very well represented at BREAD & BUTTER, the biggest and best jeans fair in the world. G-star, Scotch&Soda, Gsus Sindustries, J.C Rags and Denham, to name a few, are all present. This year, however, they outdid themselves by hosting their own pop up restaurant ‘Der Georg’ in the Alte Münze in Berlin from the 6th to the 8th of July.
The Dutch fashion industry initiated Der Georg for guests to enjoy the atmosphere and to get fully informed on the reasons why the Dutch have become one of the leading denim brand builders in the world. Der Georg was a meeting place, mobile office, showroom and temporary 'consulate' for Dutch fashion, design and denim professionals.

The Dutch are not known for their luxury brands and never will be. But Amsterdam has the highest density of denim companies worldwide. Dutch fashion styling is often ‘sophisticated casual’ and it is this style that is more and more appreciated in Germany as well. A trade fair is a good place to show one’s products, but what better place to convey the experience that goes with the Dutch denim brands than a restaurant? ‘Sophisticated casual’ is not just a look, it is a feeling that we have airlifted out of the Amsterdam city centre into Berlin. To really experience Dutch fashion it is good to visit the BREAD & BUTER fair, but it is best to start with a drink at Der Georg in the Alte Muenze.
Partners in this project are MODINT, Fronteer Strategy and …,staat creative agency. More information on the Dutch Denim Diner Facebook page.
