German-Dutch business day 2011
Dutch Design Desk Europe hosted the German-Dutch Round Table for Design, Fashion and Architecture at the German-Dutch Business Day on 24 November 2011. The event took place at the soccer stadium of Borussia Mönchengladbach. This free program varied from strategic advice to B2B-talks with potential business partners. The discussion was very lively and inspiring to the audience.

The day started at 10.00h with a workshop, entitled ‘International Entrepreneurship’. During this workshop, a mix of questions were dealt with, that are important for designers that want to expand their market beyond the national borders towards Germany. These questions deal with the starting-point, missions, identity and approach of the individual design agency. There was attention for entrepreneurs that are planning to cross the national borders, but also for companies that have worked across the borders already. In addition, a presentation of the market research ‘Opportunities in the German market’, focusing on opportunities for the Dutch creative industry (design, fashion and architecture) was held.
From 14.00h to 20.00h there was an information market. Dutch and German business promoting organizations were available for conversations and advice. Also, a German-Dutch Round Table for Design, Fashion and Architecture was organized, for Dutch and German colleagues to learn from their experience in cross-border projects. A B2B-matchmaking event provided individual talks with potential German partners (like designers and manufacturers) that were selected on company profile. The program was closed with a German-Dutch get-together.
