'Re-Cycling Cycling' in Bangalore

The Connecting Concepts exhibition penetrates the surface of Dutch design to look at how ideas combine to create not only singular objects but also a design culture. After showing in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, the exhibition opens its doors in India for the third time from 19 to 31 July at Art Complex Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath in Bangalore.

This edition of Connecting Concepts includes the workshop 'Re-Cycling Cycling' on ways to popularize and promote cycling in Bangalore. Janak Mistry (Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology), Murali H.R. (Namma Cycle) and curator Ed van Hinte (Premsela) will lead this workshop, with the participation of a team of teachers, students and guest designers from both India and The Netherlands. The workshop will run from 19 to 26 July.

The official opening of Connecting Concepts Bangalore is on 23 July with lectures by Indian and Dutch designers and a presentation of the halfway results of the cycling workshop. After closing in Bangalore Connecting Concepts will travel to Beijing (as part of the Dutch pavilion at Beijing Design Week), and thereafter to Shanghai.
