Fact Finding Mission

On behalf of the DutchDFA programme, a delegation of 4 Dutch fashion professionals travelled to India on a fact finding mission from 9 to 14 October 2011. This mission takes James Veenhoff (Fronteer Strategy), Christine Vroom (Premsela – The Netherlands Institute for Fashion and Design), Mariette Hoitink and Karlijn Bozon (both HTNK/ NL Fashion INcubator) to Delhi to prepare next year’s launch of DutchDFA projects in India.

Dutch Fashion HERE&NOW was at Shanghai Fashion Week in 2010

A combined presentation of Basic Instincts, Dutch Fashion HERE&NOW and a brandnew connecting concept will be on show during India Fashion Week in April 2012. During this trip in October 2011 the delegation visited Delhi Fashion Week and met with potential local partners like Pearl Academy of Fashion and Vogue India.

Next year's Dutch fashion initiative in India will take a diverse approach ranging from a catwalk presentation to a major multidisciplinary exhibition to workshops. The new concept connecting the projects will build a bridge between Dutch and Indian partners with the aim to engage in a strong dialogue with Indian fashion and design. The intention is to connect the creative strength of fashion and design with the large economic potential of international collaboration between the two countries.
