Indian-Dutch design school

Last month the Dutch plan INdian DEsign EDucation (INDEED) for the development of design education in India was presented to the advisor of the Indian Prime Minister during the Global Roundtable in Delhi.

Indeed stands for INdian DEsign EDucation.This proposal ( download (36 pages, 3.0 Mb) 3,1 mb) was written at the request of Mr Sam Pitroda, who asked for a roadmap to further the growth of state-of-the-art design schools and design competencies in India. The Indeed proposal is the result of an intensive collaboration between Indian and Dutch design researchers and design professionals.

Our belief
Indeed will provide models of design education and design awareness that are based on the most contemporary, bold and forward-looking thinking in design.
India needs to develop its own unique models of innovation and design education. We can leverage our extensive experience with Dutch design to help clarify potential models of design education for India. In this effort, we will harness our joint international networks.

All lined up
Indeed comprises a range of projects ordered on a timeline that runs from 2012 – 2020. The shortterm projects (2012 – 2014) can begin immediately; the long-term projects (2018-2020) will need preparation and will in general take more time to
come to full fruition. All the projects we propose are scalable; they can start 'small', i.e. as a pilot, and can be expanded when proven successful.
