Dutch design to visit India

Dutch design to visit India

Via BNO:

Fifteen Dutch design agencies can join the BNO association of Dutch Designers  on a trip to Mumbai, India, to establish collaboration between the design agencies here and there. Enrollment started this week.

Minister for Foreign Trade Frank Heemskerk signed a statement to partnerships between Dutch and East Indian agencies. This trade mission, named Dutch Design Delegation, is a concrete result of this intention.

Benefits of the India-Dutch collaboration could be:

  • acquiring a better position with Indian commissioners by offering extra competences,
  • cost effective businesspropositions for Dutch commissioners by outsourcing: Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Engineering Process Outsourcing (EPO),
  • a better relation with Dutch enterprises that do business with India, and with Indian enterprises that aim for the Dutch or European market,
  • obtaining new knowledge and inspiration for all parties.

The project is commissioned by EVD, the agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and will take place from the 3rd to the 7th of September.  At that time Design Yatra, platform for the design & creative fraternity in architecture, interior, retail and product design will hit Mumbai. Earlier editions feautured guest speakers like Stefan Sagmeister, Tyler Brulé (magazines Monocle, Wired) and Dutch  Erik Kessels (Kesselskramer), Peter Kersten (BNO) and Jeroen van Erp (Fabrique). The trade mission will initiate and participate in matchmaking sessions and visit agencies of colleagues in India. DutchDFA will top up the program with on the spot meetings and a presentation of Dutch Design.
