Echo is an animation film with glass headset made for the national Glassmuseum in Leerdam. Echo is simple but complex, a minimalist expression of body and structural form created to encompass the human landscape with fluid movement of object and humanoid shell.

 

Body architect Bart Hess is a finalist for the Dutch Design Awards. The Young Designer Award (YDA) is the incentive prize for young, talented designers. The prize is awarded based on the designer's portfolio. The international jury will select the Young Designer 2011 from the three finalists appointed by a special selection committee. The winner receives a prize worth € 10,000 (€ 2,500 cash prize money and professional guidance by Design Cooperation Brainport worth € 7,500). Other finalists are BCXSY (Boaz Cohen and Sayaka Yamamoto) and Sander Veenhof.

 

Previous winners of this Young Designer Award are 

  • Christien Meindertsma (2008), 
  • Jelte van Abbema (2009), and 
  • Iris van Herpen (2010), who are all working hard to continue their successful careers.
