Conny Groenewegen

Conny Groenewegen is a young up and coming talent who won the Dutch

Fashion award in 2011. Her feminine, sensual clothing crosses the border

between fashion and art, and plays with strong contrasts like open versus

closed, or past versus present. Groenewegen specializes in knitwear, using

a computerized knitting machine that enables her to combine the qualities

of different materials in one single piece of fabric.

Thorough research is key to Groenewegens work and frequenting the textile

lab in Tilburg enables her to take all the time she needs to find new ways

of using the latest technologies. The innovations she comes up with are

accessible to other designers who are free to use them in different ways.
